Michael Sinkevich is a Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich P.C. Shareholder who has practiced extensively in the environmental and land use areas since obtaining his law degree, and previously, a degree in environmental engineering. With a focus on complex environmental litigation, Mr. Sinkevich assists Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich P.C.’s business, individual, municipal, and non-profit clients in a wide array of matters concerning the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, New Jersey’s Spill Compensation and Control Act, Site Remediation Reform Act, Solid Waste Management Act, Environmental Rights Act, and Municipal Land Use Law. Mr. Sinkevich represents clients before New Jersey’s trial courts, Appellate Division, Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. In addition, Mr. Sinkevich frequently represents a variety of clients before planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment throughout the State of New Jersey.

Mr. Sinkevich also has extensive experience guiding Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich P.C.’s clients through all aspects of environmental regulatory compliance. At the forefront of New Jersey’s recently adopted remediation scheme, Mr. Sinkevich assists potentially responsible parties through all aspects of environmental clean ups, including working with Licensed Site Remediation Professionals. He has a particular focus on securing insurance coverage for remediation efforts with his substantial knowledge of Carter-Wallace insurance allocations. Mr. Sinkevich also guides clients through regulatory compliance with the Freshwater Wetlands Act and the Coastal Area Facility Review Act.

Prior to joining Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich P.C., Michael Sinkevich graduated cum laude from Albany Law School, where he was an Articles Editor on the Albany Law Environmental Outlook Journal. During law school, Mr. Sinkevich interned with the Office of Hearings and Mediation Services at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. At graduation, Mr. Sinkevich was awarded the Gary M. Peck Memorial Prize for Excellence in Environmental Law. Prior to law school, Mr. Sinkevich graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. and M.S. degrees in environmental engineering. His technical background has been an invaluable asset for clients during all phases of litigation and regulatory compliance.
